Tasty smorgasbord

Had some guys from Jersey yesterday out for some cobia. Kevin and his crew were patient but cloudy skies made cobia fishing tough. After we got one throwback cobia, we changed plans and tried some different types of fishing.  They brought in three nice keeper seabass and bunch of tasty triggers.  To top it off we landed three keeper flounder  with one being six pounds!  On a bobalama jig. Thanks guys!

Tom gets cobia!

Tom and his Dad came out yesterday and windy conditions made it tough. We did however get three cobia (1 keeper), a Mahi, trigger, blues, and couple nice cores.  Cobia we spotted off a big leatherback turtle.

Couple cobia

Larry out couple days ago. Absolutely beautiful weather day! Fishing however was tough but we did get two to the boat! Thanks Larry!

Drum and sheepshead

Despite crummy weather conditions Del and his family came out.  The redfish were biting.  We landed a limit and released more fish up to 34 inches.  Some of these critters were landed on eight lb spinning gear!  Then tried the sheepshead and they were biting.  Thanks guys and Happy birthday!

Life is good!

O

Still gettin em!  We hit the triggers pretty good last couple trips!  The winds were calm and seas flat. So we went to an inshore wreck and landed triggers let a few go and kept some for dinner , very yummy!  We also encounter a few cobia but they have been small.  One cool thing we saw the other day was a big manta air out right next to us and as he leveled out there was a 20 lb cobia under his belly wiggling around. Not sure if he jumped with him or got sucked out by the 1000 lb behemoth.             Today hard winds terrible conditions but coerced ole Cb and John to go out and try for drum, his favorite fish!  So I was excited to get my opportunity to fire up the Southern run with its shallow draft full tunnel and go playing. First stop nada, second stop nada then Castaway Dave threw me a bone and got a few drummies.  That spot died so we moved off to another and got more!  Weeeeeee! Plus check out the bird chillin with Jr in the bean bag chair.  Out of the blue, new buddy just hanging. pretty cool! Also had the pleasure of a last minute cancellation. So made lemonade took the boss and kids out one more time out playing on the ocean.  Riding behind the boat wake, swimming and all it was Picture perfect!  Fat capt got out and carved a few turns too!

Bad weather ready to fish

Been home bound with a few trip cancellations due to the weather.  Windy rough ocean and rain has lent itself to oil changes and long overdue time with kids!  Should get back on it tomorrow!  Got a few pics to post. Realized some post did not get through so reposting em.  Thanks everyone for fishing!

Shark!

Yesterday am. Nothing nada scratch. Mug mal.  Sorry guys I stunk.  Afternoon trip since it was shark week and young mr McGovern wanted a shark, we went chumming.  Cute little criiter this kid was! gSeventeen bites 15 hookups in three hours on 20 lb blacktips etc.  no megladons.  Capt Devon did report seeing a 800 lb white shark less than a mile where we started chumming.  On way home in the supa glare a piggy cobia. Made our trip Cinderella story!  Gonna be off couple days but back at it soon thanks everyone!!!!

Young Fred four years old gets first cobia!

Yesterday John and his crew caught a few small cobia and a few ajs on topwater. Calm day but heavy clouds made it tough on us sightcasting.  Today four year old Fred out with his family this am dropped his jig and hooked and landed his own cobia!!!  Wow.  We released that one and got a couple sharks then one nice cobia for the grill.   This afternoon Ken and his crew out and hooking four and getting two to the boat.  Saw some fish so pretty excited.  Hope they stay around!  Thanks everyone for fishing and your generosity!
