Tough girls fishing on the outer banks

Tried for a few hours yesterday but the winds and yes another ridiculous cold front stymied our attempts at fishing success .  But these two young girls never complained! Learned how to cast and had fun.  And I promised them we Will get them this fall!!

Drumming and sanding

Been fishing a few trips lately. Landing a bunch of stripers and nice trout on the

Elizabeth river.  Wrapped that up till next fall.  Brought the Carolina blue home for the quickly approaching season. Thanks again everyone up there for being so nice and going the extra mile to help out. Thanks Brian and Phil.  Boats are getting sanded painted and the extra attention that they will get little of later when it's go go go everyday.  We were painting the rocksolid the other day and finally nocked off in the evening to go whack some nice slot reds!  A lot of fun and looks to be a great fishery for us this year!  So we already have some fishing options gearing up!  Sorry did not get many pics this go round camera was messed up.  

Trout champ!

Ole Cb aka Jr. Held onto the title of trout champ 2013!  Day two of probably the final trip to the trout hole till next season.  I our self designed point scoring weekend had Jr. hold off Myers to win!  Jr was up early with 11-3-5 lead when Myers made a valiant comeback to tie things up at 14-14-5!  The five would of been what I managed to catch.  It was hard fishing around those fish hogs! It was a mix if stripers and specks!  Biggest speck was around five and biggest striper around 7! The tied breaker is biggest for each species if fish and cb had those categories!  So trout cup looks like a heavy favorite to Jr.  Well done my friend.  Stay thirsty!!Fun time still able to fish up there few more weeks then we will be switching gears!  So come on or get your trips for next winter reserved.  

Cool Outer Banks Sunrise

Way to go Myers!  Got a nice 10 lb striper .  This striper and more where released.  The speckled trout are catch and release starting today in Virginia.  North Carolina closed the season couple weeks back.  NC lets you keep them again around mid June . Not sure when Virginia reopens.  Still fun to catch however!! Thanks Tom and Cb for fishing.  Only downfall was the  cold air temperatures that we all wish would go away.  Got the southern run sanded and bottom painted last week so that's out of the way! One down two more to go.  Thanks to Radcliff marine for so quickly fixing the lower unit on the Carolina Blue and getting us back on the water!!  Also getting very jacked up to get  down to Florida to do some tripletail and cobia fishing in a few weeks!!
